6 Tips To Better Homemade Pizza

Want to make better pizzas at home? Let's dive in!

Our goal is for everyone to make such good pizzas at home they become Snobs themselves. That's why we want to give you all the tip and tricks necessary to make the best pizzas at home. Below are 6 top tips to better homemade pizza.

1. Use High Quality Dough

Your pizza dough is the foundation of your pizza. Using poor pizza dough can lead to soggy or burnt crusts. It can also be very frustrating to work with. At the end of the day pizza making is supposed to be fun! Set yourself up for success with a great pizza dough.

2. Dough Temperature

Before making your pizza, make sure your dough is at room temperature. If not it can be hard to stretch, create holes, and have all sorts of different issues.

3. Get Creative

Pizza doesn't have to be limited to pepperoni and cheese. Mix it up! Whether it's potstickers, cheese steaks, or a hole Thanksgiving dinner, try something new. And of course, look for inspiration as we continue to share our Pizza of the Month.

4. Cooking Surface

Where are you cooking your pizza? While a pizza oven is great and will likely give you the best results, you can still get amazing pizzas from your home oven or grill.

If you choose to go with either of these two options we recommend getting a pizza stone or pizza steel. Both are affordable ways to improve your homemade pizza game.

5. Make It Hot

Generally speaking, you want your oven as hot as possible you can safely make it (especially if you aren't using a pizza oven). But it's important that if you are using a stone or steel that they get up to temperature before putting your pizza on it.

So don't just throw you pizza in as soon as the oven is done pre-heating. Make sure that the surfact has plenty of time to get to temperature.

6. Let Your Pizza Dough Rest

It's so tempting to want to slice that pizza right up. Before you dive in, give it a minute or two to rest and settle. It'll be less messy and you won't lose all your toppings. Don't worry, it'll still be fresh and hot.
