About Us

What began with a group of family friends in Fort Worth, TX in 2014 quickly became one of the hottest pizza restaurants in Texas.

The goal was simple: create fresh and unique pizzas that you couldn't find anywhere else. The base of all of this was the Pizza Snob's Original Pizza Dough which you'll find in our shop today. Our dough was born as the result of trying to find the perfect balance between Italian street pizzas and delicate French pastries. What resulted was a light and buttery crust that satisfied without filling you up.

This wasn't achieved overnight and took almost 80 attempts to get right. In the end though we found the perfect combination of unique flours and yeast not traditionally used in pizza making, as well as a proofing process where we learned the best things come to those who wait.

As pizza lovers we enjoy all types of pizzas in all different settings, including making our own pizzas at home. Whether it be in our conventional ovens, on the grill, or even a home pizza oven we've been making pizzas since before Pizza Snob was even created. In our time we've experimented with most of the dough options in the marketplace. And we noticed a few things lacking:

  • Lack of Variety: Most of the pizza doughs out there were for Neapolitan or New York style crusts. Both of which can be good but we wanted something new.
  • Bland: Store bought dough balls and other mixes we've tried all came out rather boring quite frankly.
  • Too Large: Most of the dough you can buy on the market is just too large for home use. Unless you have a restaurant sized pizza oven in your house, you likely don't have room to cook the 16" pizzas that a lot of them provide. This means you end up having to cut up the dough and waste a significant portion.
  • Hard To Work With: Have you ever been stretching dough for what feels like hours only to have it snap back into the ball it was at the start. Us too and it can be really annoying.

One day though we had an epiphany, why don't we take some of the pizza dough from Pizza Snob and try it out at home. And the results were brilliant!

  • Unique Flavor: All the elements of a classic Pizza Snob pizza were there. The dough was light and airy with our signature buttery flavor.
  • Perfect Size: Pizza Snob always specialized in smaller pizzas that you could eat yourself or share with another person. This 11" size worked perfectly for all the cooking methods we tried.
  • Easy To Work With: From the beginning, workability was key when developing our pizza dough for the restaurant. This carried over to the home front as well making it easy to spread the dough out and throw into the oven.

Pizza Snob's goal has always been to provide customers with unique build-your-own pizzas. After realizing how well our dough worked at home, we had to share it with more Snobs out there to bring build-your-own pizza to the next level, your own home.
